In preparation for our trip to Portland, I sat down and did a few paintings so that we could make our drive and not have to pull over at any old opportune spot. This is a piece that came out of my head, but is based on my trips to France of course. I kind of mixed up the red poppies that bloom in May along with the lavender that blooms in July, but I have an artistic license dontcha know? I love the lopsided rooflines there, the olive and cypress trees and the lilting light and color, all that seem to flourish beyond measure. Happy, dreamlike days that I invite you to join me in.
