The American River was truly sublime. This subject while dreamy in real life, is quite hard to execute in a painting. I brought it home and tried to pump it up to tell the same story that I saw that lovely day. It's a simple vision of back light along a riverbank with just enough glimmers on the water to make your heart sing.
Wow, I feel the coolness under the tree and hear the water rushing and smashing into the rocks. This is a lovely painting!
