A little to the right of the first fall vineyard painting I did the other day was this scene, or the inspiration for this painting more like. There was a house behind the glowing yellow trees but it didn't make the cut even though it was my favorite pea green yellow in house paint. There was also a dumb evergreen tree that provided a nice dark anchor for the painting, but it also had to be nixed. What resulted is a calming, simplified version of that glorious day in vineyardland and I rather like that it doesn't have any dark darks.
