I had a hankering for going to Hawaii today..........wanted to visit our dear friends the Metzgers since they introduced us to their home on Kauai some 17 years ago. Hadn't been so interested in Hawaii before that, but boy has it gotten under my skin. It's like visiting a foreign country where they speak English and also like an episode of 'Honey I Shrunk the Kids' with all the GIANT foliage. Yummy light, colors, air quality and water besides all of that greenery and fragrance. Dontcha just want to zip over there when Spring Fever sets in? It's time to warm up those old bones, feel young again and crunch some sand between your toes. This image came from a romp out to the Waimea Plantation Cottages where we ate with LeRoy and Cindy and lollygagged a luscious evening away.
I've never been to Kauai - but my son Tim and his wife and two little ones go once a year - it's their favorite island. This painting is awe-inspiring, Erin!! GREAT job!
